About Me

I came up through the ranks. My first seven years in industrial business were on the shop floor, running a machine. Every role I have held since then has been shaped by that starting point.

Over the next three decades I moved through operations, engineering, sales and marketing, and finance and administration, eventually carrying full P&L responsibility for multiple organizations, across specialty manufacturing, precision machining, metals fabrication, and industrial services. One was a startup I co-founded and helped scale to several million in revenue before its acquisition. Another was a division of a public multinational, where I led roughly 130 associates across the U.S. and China and more than $50M in annual sales,  In between were turnarounds, integrations, and ground-up operational rebuilds across a range of markets including defense, aerospace, heavy construction equipment, public utilities, fluid power, and emergency vehicles, serving customers from small businesses to Fortune 100 companies.

The results were measurable and repeated. Record revenues. Margins improved to new levels. On-time delivery rebuilt from the low sixties to above ninety-six percent. EBITDA restored in operations that had not seen positive earnings in years. Production throughput doubled, sometimes in just a few months.

I earned my MBA and bachelor's degree later in my career, after nearly thirty years of direct operating experience. I hold a Six Sigma Black Belt certification and have formal training in Lean management, Kaizen, project management, and organizational development. I also completed coursework in mechanical engineering technology, which gave early technical grounding that stayed useful across every role that followed.

In addition to my operating work, I serve as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors at CSE Federal Credit Union in Canton, Ohio, a federally regulated institution with approximately $450 million in assets and nearly 50,000 members. That role has extended my experience into governance, fiduciary oversight, capital planning, and enterprise risk management.

Today I work through Spring Valley Advisers, the advisory platform I founded to bring operator-led engagement directly to founders and owners of lower-middle-market industrial businesses. The work is hands-on. The focus is on building value, creating options, and helping owners get to a position where they can choose what comes next rather than having the decision made for them.
